Anyone have any thoughts on why Kosminsky made Old Jawda morbidly obese? The actress who plays her, Hiam Abbass, is not overweight by any means and I doubt he would go through all the trouble to get her in a fat suit for the role just because he felt like it. So what's the significance of that to the storyline?

I wondered that exact same thing ... and they made her to look a lot older than she is as well. Why couldn't they just have got an actress who WAS that age and size, if thats what they wanted? Especially as young Jawda was not a central character so it didn't matter if they didn't look exactly the same. It was the only thing that threw things off for me and looked fake

I thought the bad fat suit and the bad old age makeup were just awful.
