For me, that was the only thing that ruined it.
I felt the same to a degree. However, I attribute it to their being completely high and really paranoid and afraid of some sort of culpability resulting from police finding out about the drugs.

I kept wondering the same thing, It made no sense at all to me why they wouldn't call the cops. I looked at the really high, and paranoid excuse but believe me when something as traumatic as the suicide of a friend happens, you sober up quick!! They could have taken an hour or two to clean up their drugs and get their heads together.
Also, they were in a luxurious beach house, drove a porch, MD, etc...
In other words they weren't in "the hood" and their friend didn't die of drugs.
However, if I understood the ending, it was all because of the vow that they all signed in blood 25 years prior that stated that if they were not who they wanted to be in 25 years that they would all die together. Please don't quote me word for word on that, LOL!
I liked the soundtrack though!
