RUINED! Katayama should be ashamed. SPOILERZ

I would LOVE to know if Yuji Iwahara even got to look at the screenplay for the film before it got sent out. Because this is complete *beep* in comparison to the manga.

I know, I know: all hardcore fans say the 'book' is never as good as the film. But here, they took on a task that they probably shouldn't have tried to fulfill in a movie (about 4, or even 3 OVAs would have done the trick): they cut out HUGE chunks of plot and character development in order to condense (I suppose) the film into the time allotted.

And the drastic changes made (such as Alice being a program, Vega being alive, Ron and Marco's death) were unnecessary and alarming. What the hell. I am pissed.

I think their adaption took away the parts that I felt ruined the manga (the magical nature of the virus) and the changes they made did the story more justice. I frankly loved the manga up until it took a sharp right turn at the end becoming rather predictable in comparison to what was happening before then.

I wish they did take more deeper looks into the characters' motivations and general development/story and that they stayed at a constant quality of good animation instead of crippling the animation with computer generated animation.

I prefer this to the manga because of the way they took the story in a much more acceptable way than the manga did towards the end.
