This Movie is a Glorious Fanfic

So I stumbled across this movie just before Christmas and figured at best it would make great background entertainment while I wrapped presents.

I had no idea the glory I was in for.

I'm so happy this movie exists. I have definitely watched it way too many times in the same week, but I mean how can I not love it? Handsome actors, hilarious main character (and majorly kickass - we truly do need more of these protagonist ladies!)

What makes this movie so fantastic is just how over the top it is. It's hilarious. It doesn't try and make itself a dark vampire movie. It acknowledges this is high school and vampire tales are wearing thin.

No, I hadn't read any of the books. In fact I only learned about the books after watching this move once... or twice... or... ::cough::

Now that it's been a couple of weeks I decided it was time to see what these books were about. I thought it was alright but if I had read the book first I would not have cared about this movie. The book is well done but is much more serious and much more about high school angst. (I should also mention that I'm definitely not a teenager anymore, or maybe it would have resonated more.) I found Rose almost hard to like in the book (but it could also be because Movie!Rose is so well played and I just like her better.)

Fear not book lovers, I am totally reading the fifth book right now. Talk about all hell breaking loose...

Ok the point is that someone read the book, thought to themselves "this would be entertaining as a movie buuuuuuut let's just tweak this moment and add this quip." Truly this movie is a fanfic version of the book. This is the way some reader out there wanted it to go. And you know what? Best. Decision. Ever.

WATCH IT AND ENJOOOOOYYYYYYY! It's for the lulz anyway! (And obviously for the shipping. XD )

Also every time I saw Mia I felt like Draco Malfoy wandered onto the wrong set of a magical school. Could not stop chuckling to myself.
