"Simplewarrior" got really lucky having his short compiled with the other shorts on a dvd listing A-list actors, but I think it's deceptive marketing. This is not new material, but that wasn't indicated anywhere on the dvd. I thought because the dvd said 2010 that it was actually filmed in 2010. Apparently, most of these shorts were film school projects from 2000-2008.
I got this dvd from my local library thinking it was different short films all tied together, but I was sadly mistaken. Each film is only 15-20 mins and doesn't really tie in with the others. Most of them end abruptly, except for Grasshopper and Blue Poles (I wanted to see more of Sam Worthington)--at least there's some kind of story there.
Pennies (with a young Amy Adams) is really amateurish and annoying, as is Auto Motives, which is all over the place (but it was funny seeing Michael Imperioli as the `stud`). The Summer House, with Robert Pattinson, isn't bad but needed to be longer.
I was more entertained by reading Simplewarrior's blog than by watching this so-called film.
