I can't understand how someone can give this movie 10 stars

Some of the reviewers gave this movie 10 stars. I agree that there are different tastes, also in movies. A movie with 9 or 10 stars however, should be a masterpiece in cinema history like Godfather, Annie Hall, Modern Times, La Strada and so on. One doesn't have to like such movies but everybody who understands something about movies has to acknowledge that there are movies, which constitute a kind of "World Heritage" of mankind.

Five Minarets in New York is in my opinion an extremely poor movie. I mean I have seen many poor movies because if you are watching a lot of movies like me it's inevitable that you see also poor movies from time to time. I have just seen "Water for elephants" a few day ago. It's really a bad movie but "Five minarets ..." is really worse than just bad. It's junk. The acting is extremely poor, the plot is confusing and doesn't make sense and the entire thing is an obvious propaganda for Fethullah Gülen. When I saw the movie in a movie theater, half of the audience consisted of Fethullah fans. In a way, I felt like being in a Riefenstahl film of the 1930s, only that Riefenstahl was a true artist with a huge talent. This is not the case if you consider the work of Kirmizigül.

If you want to see how the Fethullah scholars are washing the brains of the Turkish people you should not miss this movie.

movie studios hire marketing companies and social media marketing companies and this is what they do. They have hundreds of accounts registered and post glowing reviews and then have their other sockpuppets vote it helpful or whatever.

It's really annoying and has really polluted the whole board. You can't really trust much of what you read here anymore.

Even for comments, there's websites out there where people sell their services, couple of dollars per post. 100 words minimum and they will say what you want them to say to try and influence people.

This movie is garbage, anyone who has seen it can tell yet you'll see review after review giving it 10 stars, praising the actors, screenwriters, directors, everyone. Oh and the classic "I can't wait to see what these guys will do next!"

what a garbage line!

Me neither. I can't wait any longer, ...
Well I can, ..but I agree to that I want to see more. If this plot is confusing, like I read someone say they thought it was, ..then maybe you should watch movies that dosen't involve dialogue...I am super critical as well, and I found it both interesting, touching on very important subjects and that it actually tries to heal and correct misconceptions spread all over the world and non the least in America.
I've seen it, I've lived in it, in both countries, and I am from a different country all together. This movie is pure and truthful. Very accurate.
But hey, this is what you get when the states and hollywood pours cash in to movies that promote the states, capitalism, "the American dream" and that all wars are waged by Muslims and Usama...and all the people from "the desert" are terrorists...
More movies like this should be made, and distributed all over the world. How come you think someone writes that they can't find the movie in the states?

This movie is not a master piece, but in my opinion neither is The Godfather. I've tried, several times to watch it but I loose interest in it. So a 10 point rating doesn't have to mean it's a masterpiece, because I can enjoy and agree to other peoples views on master pieces such as The Fall, Dr Shivago, Star Wars, Braveheart or whatever movie YOU decide is a master piece. You just either share someones opinion or simply like a movie that much that you want others to see it by giving it a high rate :)

your clearly wrong. this is a very good movie, great actors and a true story happening in the US right now, i rated this movie 9 stars cause i know a good movie when i see it and this is very good. Drama, action, emotion in some cases a documentary(which shows how Christians treat Islam as a terrorist religion) built into one, this movie deserves my respect

I have no view on the movie since I haven't seen it. But its funny that someone starts talking about paid shills for the movie companies. And this one post guy shows up and posts this. Found it very amusing.

I find it hard to rate this movie because it seems to be trying to be something, but is too haphazard, imho, to be convincing. There is a feeling, I think, that the main character is a good person being persecuted through 'guilt by association' and the religious mix along with interactions was interesting to me. The ending was coming a long way off and was 'kind of' predictable. I suppose there are worse ways to pass time than to sit through this film!

agreed with the statment that if this film has less quality in acting, plot, and so on...and I understand if a movie smells of a religion will inevitably lead to diverse consequences of reciprocity, every single man has diffrent thoughts. sometimes we don't judge a film is good or poor from some angles, but seen from another angle as well. This film is doesn't have an good scene overall, but according to my intention that this film has a nice meaning in some point, where the film tries to tell Islam from a different perspective, and tells how arrogant a society to judge islam with single perspective and treat it as an overall picture (and I think this is really happening in some places).

sorry for the bad language. no offense.

There is no such thing as an objective aesthetic assessment.
