They kept referring to 1971 and 1982, but they don't explain. The one guy lost fingers those years, but how does that relate to the creature breeding? If it's "mating" every year, then why is there only one? And why did the guy chop his daughter's feet off? The other girls kept their feet. And who was the woman at the beginning? And why does a half man/half alligator have 2 mouths, like Alien???

It was his daughter. That's why he said the jewel he gave her belonged to her mother and before that to her grandmother, it was a family tradition. Karen was Oscar's sister and Oscar was Chopper's son so Karen was Chopper's daughter. You just have to listen to what characters say when you watch a movie, it helps to watch with the sound on.
I have all the same questions after watching this, and no answers. I love a good b creature flick (just watched Grabbers and I loved it) but I'm not sure what the hell is going on with this movie.
