I've seen the first 7 eps of season 2 and I adore Alois, but I just heard he doesn't show up in the manga. Now I'm not sure I want to read it. I've got volume 1 and enjoyed the chapter where Ciel gets kidnapped, but those other three servants are such a bunch of bumbling idiots, they get on my nerves. I also have a hard time tolerating Elizabeth

The manga is a lot darker. I prefer it to the anime. I felt like a lot of the characters in the anime were watered down as time went by.
Witty closing remarks have been replaced by massive head trauma and severe hemorrhaging.
I've read the first three volumes so far and I love the manga and the anime equally. I can't wait to get the first box set in January!
