Is this show dead?
And by dead I mean finished, not going to be a 2nd season?

Sadly, it looks like this one season may be all there is.
The good news is you can find out what happens next by reading the manga. (Start with volume 5 if you want to pick up right where the anime leaves off.)
The bad news is that the manga has no "end" either... it's been on "hiatus" for a year or so now, having abruptly stopped mid-story. :(
