The main guy an Rei

I can't remember his name but i don't understand why the main character ended up ignoring Rei when she tells him she loves him. It just seems stupid that he was waiting for her to say it the whole series and then suddenly he saw the purple haired girl nudie and likes her instead.

If im missing something please feel free to call me an idiot! :)

In my opinion, Takashi (the main character) realizes that everyone's emotions are running high after all the events occurring around them; that they are confused, and unsure of what's going on, or what they're feeling. So he's not sure what to think of what everyone is saying, and just let's it be until they can relax and figure things out. Can't say I blame him, i'd probably do the same thing in his shoes. Kinda like 'your just wound up and confused, let's talk about this later' type of moment.
And I wouldn't call you an idiot. In fact, I'm glad you addressed this concern, and actually made me think about it a bit. Thank you for that.

To be honest i never even thought of it that way! Thanks for making me think about it again after a few months! :)

My two cents are that its a mix of him feeling guilty over killing his best friend and her love and maybe him moving on from her. I like the prospect of Takashi and Saeko, the whole digging each other's dark side appeals to me.

Well, Takashi and Rei almost boinked in episode 11 but they stopped because her back her. Yeah, they sort of started out as the main couple but Takashi/Saeko pretty much became a definite item after, what was it, episode 9? After that did the whole "Passionate kiss, fade to black" moment. (Which, as anybody who knows anything about film cliches, know is code for "sex.")

I think the show runners probably wanted to have it both ways. Set up a love triangle. So everyone can write fan fiction and drawl doujin.

Saeko is in love with Takashi, and he's developing feelings for her, but he's been in love with Rei for years, and she with him. It's basically a love triangle, but he seems to be leaning more towards Saeko, especially since in this new world they can relate to each other a lot more and are giving into and being attracted to the other's dark side. His dream in the OVA episode shows how his feelings seem to be directed more toward Saeko now too, but like they say, you never forget your first love, and she's right there with him. He's basically torn between his old love and this new love. Personally, can see him with either one of them, but I like him with Saeko a lot more.

And in regards to Takashi and Rei almost "boinking", it was implied that he and Saeko DID boink at the shrine. After an emotional moment, they leaned in to kiss, and the screen goes black, which could imply sex. But it's the next morning that reveals what happens. Though it can be easy to miss since the shot focuses on Takashi as he's checking for zombies, Saeko is in the background, PUTTING ON HER SKIRT, which she was very clearly wearing the previous night just before the screen faded to black when they kissed. Now, why wold her skirt be off, hmm?
