Boycot CBS

First they cancel S$^t My dad says on a cliffhanger, then they cancel mad love a show which had a great run, and I know this happened years ago when they shut down Gary, Unmarried they left that on a cliffhanger. And the worst is that they let Two and a half men stay? How I met your mother was good in the beginning but enough already! Who is the mom? I say we boycot Cbs anybody agree?

reply

It is frustrating that shows leave cliffhangers, hoping to be renewed for another season, and then get cancelled. Mad Love did not have strong enough ratings or writing to stay on CBS.

reply

yeah the writing was pretty lame but the actors did a great job getting around that this sort of felt like they were trying to cross friends with how I met your mother. Why they renewed that stupid Two and a Half men with Ashton Kutcher at the helm doesn't make sense how they are going to write him in still puzzles me.

With Mad Love & Sh** My dad Says gone , there areonly 3 Prime Time Show on CBS I'll watch . 1. Big Band Theory , 2. Rules Of Engagement , 3. Mike&Molly . Everything else is just CRAP .

reply

Mike and Molly is crap. It's just another "comedy" with fat jokes. Cancel/replace that. I'll boycott CBS to an extent. I won't bother watching ANY shows in their season one. It's why I haven't watched any of Hawaii 5-0 yet.

reply

I agree, this show had a really strong cast and I enjoyed it. I'm sick of CBS prematurely cancelling shows. They did the same thing with the Class and Accidentally on Purpose in recent years.

reply

CBS really screwed up on this one. This show had legs. Good cliff-hanger season finale. I was already looking forward to next season. The chemistry between Labine and Greer was delicious.

Dude! The Class was a phenomenal show. :( and I loved Gary, Unmarried as well, only thing I've liked that guy in. Now this show. :( This is a bad year for really good shows.

reply

Yeah, I still miss The Class. In the end, the ratings weren't *that* bad but since it was more expensive to make and the David Crane pricetag, and the fact it wasn't getting around 9 mil or more, it didn't make it. Great acting and writing on that show.

Really sad since the awful unfunny show Rules of E which isn't even a ratings hit gets to keep going even after being a midseason crapfest more than once and there is no way that Rules of E is better than The Class or even Out of Practice (which had great ratings for a long time before they changed nights after a long layoff when reality shows were still dominating in 05-06 way more than now).

CBS = Crappy But Stupid!

I'm curious as to what kind of dirt David Spade has on people to keep his shows going. There was that earlier office crapfest he was in and now RoE.

reply

I actually enjoy Rules of Engagement. I find it hilarious. I think the reason it stuck around was because the actors are known celebrities, and CBS is going for syndication which will make them more money. Moving it to Saturdays was its way of getting the syndication without "wasting" a time-slot. Another reason why CBS blows.

reply

I'm a Rules of Engagement fan too, but I don't see why its move to Saturdays means CBS blows. It's not like they cancelled it. Why should we even care what their motivation is, as long as ROE gets renewed?

reply

CBS is run by idiots. *beep* my dad says was great! MAd Love was decent...Killed 2 solid shows..

reply

Mad Love was basically HIMYM lite. It took all of 3 minutes to notice that, especially running them back to back.

Just gotta keep on livin.. L-i-v-i-n

reply

Yeah - Mad Love had terrible writing. Every joke wasn't about booze, prostitutes or a leech of a brother.....

reply

Actually, In my opinion Mad Love amalgated the best of the American series 'Friends' with the British series 'Coupling'! Speaking of 'Coupling', the Larry Munsch character seemed to me to combine the best of both Jeff and Miles. True, we didn't have Jeff's Giggle Loop, Mr. Subtext, and Melty Man, but we did have Larry's Rules of Love constantly popping up! Some say the the Brits do humor and comedy a lot better than Americans, but Mad Love was one example where that was disproved!

CBS is terrible anyway. I like Chalke, Labine, and Greer, but this show was doomed to suck from the start.

"Mike and Molly is crap. It's just another "comedy" with fat jokes."

Not true - ever since about episode 5/6 the character development has been great. Carl, the grandma, the mom's new boyfriend, the sister - all of them are not even dealing with fat jokes, and even the leads Mike and Molly don't make that an issue. I like that it's got 'real' looking people and not cookie cutter style people that seem to all look the same!

Was nice that Larry wasn't a typical skinny person and actually drank and ate a lot!!

I'm pretty bummed this show was cancelled.

It wasn't one we went out of our way to watch, but it was great on the half hour filler material.

We eventually watched every episode.

I remember that the show Cheers was near last in the network rankings in it's first season, and then it torpedoed to the top.

I especially liked the chemistry in the episodes with a focus on Connie.....Judy Greer.

We first noted her in a Two and a Half Men role as Herb's sister.

She was super in all that we watched.

Mad Love was a quietly nice and growing show, and I sure expected to see it again later this month with new episodes.

I'll boycott "60 Minutes," to keep with the spirit of this thread.

I hate that "tick, tick, tick intro" that reminds me my weekend is over.

They never give great shows a chance even if they make great numbers like Rob. I was really upset when this show got ax as well
