Ok, the theatre Eli goes to is playing Pretty In Pink, Top Gun, Three Amigos and Hannah And Her Sisters. Pink and Hannah came out in Feburary and Top Gun came out in May, but you could say it was a theatre that got second hand films but Three Amigos came out in December of 86... Hmm...

I do know "Top Gun" was the #1 movie Sept. 19-21 in '86.
You're correct about "The Three Amigos," but the others may have been playing in some theaters late in the year.
Yea, the other three I get. I saw The Great Mouse Detective in 1990 at a local theatre even though it came out four years prior. I'm pretty sure re-releases started to die out when they released Snow White again in, I think 93? Or 94?

Come on now. They are not trying to be accurate down to the exact week/month of the year.
Maybe the writers just wanted to give some recognition to "Three Amigos" as one of their favorite movies from that APPROXIMATE time in their life.
As comedy writers, my guess is that they were fans of it. Don't sweat something so minor.
I mean, it by no means will make me not like the show. I just get irked by stuff like that cos I'm a huge geek. I've been working on a script that takes place over the course of 1978 and when I reference a song or make a note to use a certain song for a certain scene, I make sure the song was already released at that point in the year.
Of course this is probably all for nought since I doubt it will ever see the light of day. Haha, not to sound pessimistic or anything.

Its a theater in a college town, so it's playing Hannah and Pretty in Pink as second hand or due to popularity, Top Gun is the current one, and Three Amigos is a preview screening for Hayes students before its December release, so there

I like the series but i couldn't relate most of this to the 80's in fact it could have been the 90's or 00's without the electricals and music!
