This isn't a mockumentary?

I'm watching this on Netflix and the title makes it sound like Jesus Camp, but when I read the reviews it sounded like a pro-Christian documentary. Now as I'm watching I feel like this is something from Christopher Guest. So I look it up on here to be sure and not only does it seem to be for real it's not even done to bash people who are Christians. What's really eye opening about it is that it just goes to show that the people who have made films like Jesus Camp and Hell House did not have to do very much editing or setting up scenes at all, and most likely just pressed record to get their material. But seriously is this a comedy bashing Christians?

The idea of the film sounds very good actually but it seems they can't escape the fog in their heads. It's like watching brainwashed people who are on the brink of awareness, but have been so dumbed down they end up chasing their own tails. I'm not against Christianity at all, as a matter of fact I'd like to believe. It's just these documentaries that are supposed to help me believe tend to do the opposite. Of course this is not as bad as the Kirk Cameron videos. But how can I trust these guys when they are so stupid? I mean I'm embarrassed that they represented my country to Europeans. Luckily they didn't seem to engage with many Europeans anyway. But this film is probably used over there for them to laugh at us!

I don't know, the fact that they are even questioning things I guess I have to give them props. I think it's because whether you believe in God or not we are being brainwashed either way. I can't help but feel that the same people are controlling both sides. So it looks like we are all screwed.

Are these guys gay? The close up of the dude showering in Barcelona. The sitting and rocking on the other dude's lap. The winking at the camera man. The gladiator outfits!

"I thought if I don't smoke, drink, or have sex then I can do anything I want!"

Whaaaa????

Drinking and kissing bad, but reading your friend's mail after promising not to, and then mock your friend, and then refuse to mail it, super cool! (I think they are jealous of the girl honestly because that's typical of what a girl in the "friendzone" would do)

Man I hope this film is being funded for a Christian university and when the cameras are off they are having some fun because I feel so sorry for them right now. They were puking all night but don't worry it wasn't from too much alcohol but from stuffing their faces with (CHINESE) food because that's totally different! Yeah don't have a few beers with beautiful Bavarian blonds but do beat each other in your hotel rooms. They even turned down gorgeous eastern European CHRISTIAN ballerinas! Yet oddly hung out with the one dude who was with them (who was also gorgeous hmmmmm) They do not have any problem with McDonald's but the bible doesn't say anything about that. But didn't Jesus dig wine?

"There's a better way to do things than you're doing now. The only catch is it's backwards from anything you've ever known."

Wow! Too bad this isn't a self reflective quote.

The other guy in the baseball cap makes me think God is a total dick! He makes God sound like an evil dictator! If that's the case I can't see heaven being that great anyway. Seriously. Do you think God is gonna stop emotionally blackmailing you after you die? Imagine what he's going to be like when he finally stops ignoring you!

Thanks guys! You just made it even harder for me to believe in Christianity. Good job! Don't worry I'm going to keep trying because it's sucks not believing in anything. The beginning of this film says the single greatest cause of atheism today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips and deny him by their lifestyle. And while I would say that is the case sometimes, the other reason is because a lot of Christians come off as brainwashed, misinformed and really unintelligent. Case in point this film! And yes I could say the same for the other side, especially with Obama becoming president. But this European trip just seemed so wasted. It seemed like they learned nothing about other cultures and the only thing they wanted to prove was how their way is the only way. And that's really sad. And they seemed really sad as well. You could see the sadness in them. That's not the way I want to be or live.
