shareMy thought is that we can't assume he was a nice guy, just because he gave shelter to Annie. He decided to help her cause he got caught inbetween her and the dirty cops, he was acting for his sake. He tortured the cop, though he could've just called the police. Yes, he might fear the police wouldn't believe him, but for me it seemed he enjoyed torturing the cop (I could be wrong).
It might be sad, but without that small twist the movie would be about nothing. In this case we are left thinking "what if..."

well maybe those movi makers should be SUED 4 making sad ending WITHOUT warn peeps first! cos i thought it would be a good and happy ending but now i cnt think of nothin but that ending all day every day and cant even go to work and it makes me MAD!!! do u think they could be sued 2??
