Is this as bad as the trailer made it look?

The trailer had me laughing out loud. I could have sworn the girl said, "Let me in, I just killed my friend!!" Ha ha.

Well perhaps you should watch it to make your own opinion. But since you asked I'll give you mine (I don't normaly write in english so the spelling may be weird sometimes):

I don't remember the trailer but this movie wasn't a hit. Actually it's quite awful and the acting is terrible from the most of the cast.
Michael is a very good and talanted actor but I have no idea what the hell happened in this one. He just seem so ... bored and unpassioned.

This is the first time I've seen Jennifer B-B. She´s horrible and her overacting makes me cringe. Her character is just annoying and incredible stupid who acts more like an idiotic cheap ditz than a victim.
She also can't cry or scream on screen. When she was screaming for help when she spotted Kyle's house I honestly laughed my ass off. Her screaming voice reminded me instantly of a scene from the movie "Blazing Saddles".

I used to like Danielle Harris but her talent is a total waste and it felt like she was just some random actress who would easily take her clothes off for a chance to be on screen.

I don't remember that much from the bad guys and I guess there´s really nothing to remember.

When it comes to the plot and characters there's so many things that´s just plain stupid. There´s also a lot of unnecessary scenes. Perhaps it would fit in an one hour ep of a crime story but as a movie it didn´t work. And many times when they tried to add some action where we're suppose to jump in the chair (or whatever), the acting was instead pretty laughable and everybody seemed to react in slow motion.

Some ppl is pointing out the low budget to be one of the reason the movie didn't come out "well" but I disagree. Perhaps if it was all about special effects, zombies, gore or what ever which it ain't.
(Take "2012" for example: Emmerich apparently had plenty of time and a lot of money to cast a bunch of moviestars and using pretty decent SFX/CGI. And his movie sucked anyway because of the lack of a good story, awful directing, stupid characters and bad acting.)

"The victim" is not the worst movie I've ever seen. However it fits in the category as ONE of the worst.

@Sure I could be polite and courteous but where's the fun in that?

reply

lol no it's worse! The acting is beyond comical...half way through I was wondering whether it was a tongue-in-cheek movie!

reply

Yeah. It really is that bad.

Okay I get the Fassbender and Hardy hype!

reply

I'm watching it right now and yes its pretty terrible, but the inept dialogue is awesome. And i have that tongue in cheek vibe too, especially when it opens with "based on true events" then a big NOT shows up in front

I take it all back, Michael just burned a cops balls with a crowbar, this movie is awesome

ROFL, I actually liked the movie more than I expected. And Danielle Harris is still hot. Wish we could've seen more of Nicole Bilderback though.

I just saw the trailer, and I thought the same thing you just said. Realized it was bad acting that made "They Just Killed" into "I've Just Killed".

Not going to bother even on Netlfix.

It's pretty damn bad, that's for sure.
