Are ANY Of The Actors ACTUALLY Gay?

I'm normally not very interested in sexual preferences, but I couldn't help thinking about this. Are there not enough great gay actors, or would a Tv-movie with real life gay men not be accepted in Usa?

Strange questions, I know. But humor me!

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i do believe Jim Parsons and Matt Bomer are openly gay. Don't know about the rest of the cast.

And thank you too, sissel89 :-)

Ok, thankyou for your answers! :-) Your'e correct, I made a false conclusion based on Ruffalos being in the movie, that it lacked gay actors. Ruffalo is really a fantastic actor, and I know my gay brother thinks the same.

Mark isn't gay and he also isn't a super hero. You DO know what actors do, right?

Yes I agree, and most to the point in this context is that he looked and sounded a lot like Larry Kramer. The character of Ned Weeks tells the story of Kramer in real life.

What I loved about Ruffalo in this was that there wasn't a moment of the self-conscious "I'm a straight actor being brave about playing a gay man" that usually accompanies such roles. It was a genuine and passionate performance.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

Jonathan Groff is openly gay and actually had a relationship with Zachary Quinto.

Many of the actors could be closet homosexual, because they wouldn't be seen as credible if "openly" gay. Those that are, are being true to themselves and perhaps the "gayness" about them isn't so easy to hide. There is still plenty of scorn for homosexuality in society, even if it is veiled.

I agree, there are a couple of gay actors in this, Jim Parsons being the one I am aware of however this is a wider issue than just this particular film.. how many openly gay movie stars can you think of? Statistically there must be some but they just keep it quiet. Zachary Quinto, Ian McKellen, George Takei, Jim Parsons and Wentworth Miller are the only openly gay men I can think of and I think that's sad, there must be more.
