Coordinates for Bakhtia (village in Happy People)

Update to my original message below: Shortly after I posted the message below I happened to find essentially the same coordinates given in tiny characters at the upper right side of the Wikipedia article on Happy People: A Year in the Taiga at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_People:_A_Year_in_the_Taiga
But discovering them on my own was fun!

As I was unable to find Bakhtia labeled on any map (Google or otherwise) or any mention of it on the web other than in connection with the film, I used images at the beginning of the movie (map and flyover of village) to discover it. The map in the movie circles an intersection of latitude and longitude that places it in latitude between Tura and Yakutsk shown on the map (roughly latitude halfway between these two). Searching the Yenisei River using Google Maps in aerial view in this limited latitude I found two unnamed villages that looked promising. The flyover along the main street of Bakhtia in the film showed houses on one side of the street with roof lines all in one direction while the houses opposite them were aligned at right angles to these. Zooming in with Google Maps I found no such configuration in the first unnamed village. But the second village matched perfectly, including a rectangular building on the left side of the street between two residences.

The coordinates are 62.464463N, 89.002168E You can copy and paste these into the Google Maps search box, and it will take you right there! It is interesting to see the sizable boats in the river if you pan up and down the river at good magnification and to see that there are other villages not too far from Bakhtia.

Enjoyed the movie very much.

I must've messed it up ---I just get the Village People, at the 23rd St. YMCA. But they look Happy, much more than the Ket minority.

Awesome, thanks so much. I tried to find the village on Google maps right after watching the film. Glad for your effort. It was fun to explore the area.

I see that the village is labled Bakhta on Google maps. Searching on that name takes you right there.
