shareI watched the ending 1 more time but still couldn't see your point of view. how did you come up with your conclusion. Rin's daughter was only 5 (or 4) years only by that time.

I agree with everything you said except the rating.
I give it 7/10 for two reasons. First, it does complete the cycle of violence showing that there you can't really run away from the things you do. And secondly, I feel any movie that makes you think about things beyond the story deserves a bit of bump in its rating.

So it was still some of the guys alive after the shoot out in docs apartment since he was being shot at when he escapes with Rin in the car,then they simply abide their time (4-5 years in this case) knowing that Rin saved him,and since they know he reverted to buddhism once before they just followed her to whatever monastery or place he was a monk in and killed him, at least thats what I belive happend.
shareTul says in his closing narration that Rin greeted him but they didn't speak. This is mere seconds before he gets shot. That was his tongue in cheek way of saying that she did the deed.
