Is it me or should have Cole punched the principal in the face?

Is it me or should have Cole punched the principal in the face for forcing him to shake the bully's hand?

reply

That whole part was just absurd, not so much the hand shaking part, but the clueless principal made such a fool of herself with the, "you hurt him by not being sincere with your handshake." I mean, the kid tells her that he tries to get away from him, but he just follows him and hits him, and pushes his head into lockers, and somehow she still berates him for not sincerely wanting to be his friend!

I'm guessing this woman must be friends with the other kid's parents or something, you couldn't really say those idiotic things without some major bias being behind it. Then again, she said those ridiculous things knowing she was being filmed, so maybe she really is just that stupid.

Agreed! Who did she think she was? What kid whose been repeatedly bullied and even physically attacked by someone wants to shake that persons hand? It in no way meant Cole was as bad as the bully HELL NO! She said a lot of ridiculous crap on this documentary I really believe she needs to be fired she lives in lar lar fairy land talking about not having magic! Hello lady you take the bullies and you seperate them from the other kids and punish them...you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know what to do!!

That woman and that scene made me angrier than anything else in the film. This is someone in charge who should know how to handle this situation. Of course the bully is going to want to shake hands, shaking hands means it's over and he doesn't get in trouble!!

I felt like jumping thru the tv and beating the crap out of her... and then offering my hand for her to shake.

reply

Oh thank goodness! I thought I was alone in this! She made me so angry w/ her fake ass smile. SMH Going through the motions w/out emotion. Just like my kids principal.

Best Comment EVER! :)

I was happy at least that the kid was standing up to her and arguing.

I was, too. Many victims would not have been so brave to have stood up to their principal (or teacher).

Why should he shake his hand sincerely when the other kid was faking it?

If one kid has bullied and hurt another kid so badly that the police was involved, you just keep them apart. That woman had no idea what she was doing, I wanted to punch her in the throat.

YOU obviously missed the part of the documentary where the 14 year old boy explains how the kids at school used to bully him all the time but he finally "lost it" and hit them, and now they just leave him alone and walk by him. "Like I'm a regular kid." That principal IS a bully, and often times the only way to get through to a bully is by speaking their language!

reply

Exactly..instill fear in them, because we all have to know the bullies are probably getting bullied as well...

I was in a situation where I'd had enough of being bullied on the bus so I just took a swing at her and lightly hit her arm. It might not have been right and I got a stern talking to by my Dad but one thing that I noticed is that the bullying from that person stopped. I still had to deal with everyone else though. I wasn't proud of what I'd done but I'd reached my breaking point.

I thought Alex's father should've punched her ass. I was thinking he was being so quiet in the principals office, letting his wife do all the talking. I thought when they left the office, he was going to let the principal have it but nah.

I thought for certain that Cole was going to flip out in the principal since all his pleas towards telling the people that he thought would protect him was actually protecting the bully instead. I do wonder how is that the school has ignored his complaints despite many times trying to do something about it.

I had to bite my tongue during that scene: to me it summed up how *beep* useless school administration is when it comes to bullying. They just have this complete disconnect and detachment that makes me believe the only people that are to talk about bullying are former victims.

The part that really made me lose it is when she said "oh honey, he shouldn't be saying that" when Cole said he was called a pussy. I wanted to scream "Then *beep* tell him that you dumb cow!".

Oh thank you for this post. I was so pissed listening to her. She was clueless. What a horrible principal.
