How many times have you watched 'Stoker'?

Stoker isn't for everyone, but the people who love the film often really, REALLY love it. My friend has watched it 9 times, and isn't done with it yet, another has seen it multiple times, but hasn't kept count. I've also lost count. I view Stoker as an extremely dependable pleasure delivery system - it never fails to fascinate and energize. Park Chan-Wook is an amazing director.

I've watched it once and that was more than enough.

"I've watched it once and that was more than enough."

Fair enough. But do you wonder what others see in it that you don't? Not that it matters if you do - I was just curious.

how often do you fap to Mia Wasikowska?

Once, and I barely finished it. Probably won't see it again. It was nice visually, but far too contrived.

Couldn't agree more. I gave the film 10 stars. Your "Disturbing and beautiful" review is fantastic btw.

Glad you liked my review. Yeah, when I love a film, I really love it. I have a certain group of movies that I keep going back to for repeat viewing. The films that speak strongly in a visual language and have an almost musical, hypnotic cadence to them (I am a musician) - that are more open-ended and poetic - those are the ones I tend to go back to frequently - and I also love the surreal. For me the ultimate of this kind of movie might be Andrei Tarkovsky's "Andrei Rublev", which is completely different (and much more serious-minded) than "Stoker", but it speaks in a powerful visual language - it's not about the rational, or a linear narrative; it's sensual and atmospheric. Of course more mainstream movies can obviously be great, too, but I think they're often ones that mostly reveal themselves in the first viewing - and, definitely, they're far less divisive. "Stoker" has a great cast and characters (love India and uncle Charlie) and they perfectly capture Park chan-Wook's elusive, semi-arch tone. It's fantastic surreal fun and incredibly sensual.
