Laundry -- they always do it wrong!

Every time characters in a movie or TV hang wet wash on a clothesline, they do it wrong. If you hang up a shirt, skirt, pants or dress, you hang it upside down. The thickest part of the garment is around the shoulders or the waistband, so that part takes the longest to dry.

But if you hang it upside down, which is by the hem or the pants legs, gravity helps to dry out the thick part. The garment also catches whatever breeze there is, which further speeds up the drying process.

Sometimes I feel like Curly in City Slickers and want to say to the director, "City folk!"
