Ending (spoiler)

I gather from the ending that he was freed and continued working at the morgue. But I really wanted to know what happened between him and his mother. Although my interpretation from their final scene was that he didn't see her again.

And I really appreciated how what we learned happened between him and his mother gave context to the video evidence we see at the end and the scenes in the pool and his cell.
