Anyone ever play this?

Did they make it up for the movie or what? I've never heard of it. Is it not American? It sounds pretty cool.

Btw, movie was okay for a low budget flick, really I was just in love with the setting more than anything else. I totally want to go there now.

I liked the twist of the old guy being the one that poisoned his side slam.

The game they played in the film is a simplified version of a game that has been around for years. For one thing, it served as the basis for the plot of an Agatha Christie novel in the 1930's or 40's. Alas, I don't recall which one ... but people have been playing the Murder Game at least since murder mysteries became popular in the post-WWI era.

I'm guessing there are variations of it all over the world. I spent most of my childhood in the US and we called it Assassin.
