I wasn't particularly impressed when I saw it last year. It had potential but the characters slowly became unsympathetic (passive, brooding and whiny) and the message of the film is horrible (we were supposed to cheer when the main guy murdered somebody in cold blood but still had hopes for a happily ever after after he gets out of prison?).

Rhaegar fought nobly.
Rhaegar fought bravely.
And Rhaegar died.

it wasn't as bad as I thought- even though I am Bulgarian and a nationalist I can't ignore that the last few Bulgarian movies don't reach my expectations. however, I was pleasantly surprised by the good acting skills of the cast as well as it had its good, funny and dramatic moments. I was really frustrated that the credits were written in english - who's the numbnut who came up with that idea?! I wonder why would somebody think it will be so cool, when I haven't seen a single foreign movie to have credits in other that the language of the whole cast and crew/country which produces it. I would have understood that if it was an international co-production and the actors were dubbed in english, but why on earth in this case?

I liked the way it represented the situation in Bulgaria after the fall of Todor Zhivkov, and the idea of the ex-military officers taking mob positions. Everything was legit with the exception of some very small details which could be noticed only by someone who expirienced that time.
