This tarnishes the legend of the N64 version

Such a wasted opportunity. People who were never around or didn't get to play the N64 version will wonder what all the fuss was about.

Whilst this looks like Goldeneye, the controls are so irritatingly bad that its hard to take the developers seriously that they released it like this.

This game is UTTERLY unplayable with a combination of the Wiimote and nunchuk. I do not expect to have to buy a separate Gamecube/N64 style controller just to play this one game.

I've had to give up on the game as, i'm so frustrated with it, and i'm fed up losing my temper because the controls are such utter crap.

If you already have a classic controller for your Wii, chances are you'll enjoy the experience a lot more, if however you don't, you need to avoid this.

Bloody awful.

I'm a big fan of the N64 game and this new version doesn't tarnish anything. It's an excellent game, not to this era what the original was but still damn good. I've tried the game with both the remote/nunchuk combo as well as the Classic Controller and while I prefer the later, the game works just fine with the remote/nunchuk as well.

It doesn't, hence my post!

And of course it tarnishes the image of the N64 original, people who never got to play the original will judge it harshly because of this version.

It works better with nunchuk and wiimote. With GC or classic you can't customize to the degree that you can with nc and wm. Dual or single-thumbstick controller style is just awkward and dumb for fps, where you need a mouse and keyboard style interface to get maximum use out of freelook. Wiimote and nunchuk are the closest that console fps' have ever come to mouse and keyboard, hence, they are the best.

No, they are not.

What's closer then. Dual Thumbstick? You put an arrow at the end of a pointer function on a wiimote... and you have a mouse. You can't do that with dual thumbsticks. With thumbsticks the pointer (or in fps' the freelook) can sloooooooooly scroll across the screen. With mouse or wiimote freelook moves with the pointer. So wiimote is closer, slower than a mouse but an improvement over dual thumbstick, which is almost unusable when compared to mouse and keyboard.

Did the OP bother to adjust the controls in the Options Screens? Because when I turned the game on I too was severely irritated by the controls. And halfway through Facility (level 2) I was feeling I was five seconds away from digging out an old Gamecube controller (now used mostly for party play of SSMB or not at all) to see if I could enjoy the game.

Then I strayed wildly from the default controls (which I had only tweaked with). If you jack up the horizontal sensitivity of both modes by large margins (and by less large margins, the vertical sensitivity), you'll get amazingly tight controls that are wonderful to play.

Honestly, I hear people all the time that say the same stupid crap: "The controls suck on any wii game. This that. Call of Duty. Blah ******* blah." The controls work fine (especially if you have military training like I do), and I've played both Goldeneye games (actually all three of them, which is including the strange and surreal Rogue Agent) and I love them both. It's true, this Goldeneye doesn't come up exactly to par with the original, but it's thanks to trolls who can't aim who say: "Oh the wii sucks ass, don't buy it." People like that, in themselves, tarnish the name of the wii and make it so people won't buy the game or any wii title. Don't get me wrong, I love Call of Duty and Halo and everything in between, but Goldeneye 2010 is a hidden gem that needs to be uncovered.

GE 2010 did over 1 mil in sales so fortunately it would seem lots of people didn't listen to those who hate just for the sake of hating.

Why the f-ck do you consider your opinion to be fact? It's not. People enjoy the game. Your opinion is just that, your idiotic attempt at giving your two cents.

In my opinion, it was a great rendition of the game, and in ways, surpasses the original by leaps and bounds (level designs, missions, etc.).

So, yea, your opinion isn't fact, so shut the f-ck up.

The title seems apt, considering the departure of Portnoy, which seems to have spurred the remaining crew to go back to their roots, which I just love.
