why does wade respond with "extra life, long story" when samantha asks him how he survived the cataclyst? hello?! artemis was there when he won the extra-life-coin! she even had the coin in her own hands and handed it to him. so what "long story" is wade talking about?
shareSupposing they didn't want to slow down the pace and tension of this scene with Wade giving her an explanation. Sure, he could have told her how he survived with a single sentence, but idk... "long story" seemed like an appropriate/natural response at that moment. Wade himself probably thought that this wasn't the right time to explain himself and I assume he wanted to surprise Artemis with the details later on. I mean, revealing what helped him survived makes for a more satisfying "tale" if he had succeeded (which he did).
shareto me it seemed like bad writing, just giving the characters some stupid cliché dialogue without being aware of the context of their own story. same goes for the dance scene where artemis says "oldschool!" when a disco song is playing, considering it's the frickin' year 2045. everything is oldschool, even a song from 2025 would be "oldschool" in 2045!
