Good show, but not Great

Found this show on Netflix. I was looking for a new show to get into and the black cast caught my attention. I have to say, the show having a black cast is really the only reason I kept watching. Here are a few pros and cons.

Pros

1. All black cast
2. Their blackness is not turned into a mistral show and they don't act like buffoons.
3. They have touched on issues that are endemic to the black community without turning a whole episode into an after school special. (Kita's not wanting to sleeping around for fear of getting a STD, or Jamal's diagnosis of High Blood Pressure)


Cons

1. It's a sitcom, but I've only laughed out loud twice.
2. The cast is bland and generic. No one really stands out as a star.
3. If this was an all white cast, I would not have made it past the first episode.

You're better then normal. You're abnormal.
