God you are dumb. This movie is a masterpiece, with great acting, great directing and a great script. Some people look away from quality because somebody doesn't get shot or there is no violence. I bet you're the kinda person that would give The Expandables a 10/10. *beep* you guys, this movie is great.

Agreed. It was a feel good *beep* that the French are sadly learning from Hollywood

It didn't go into exploring anything that interesting. Way too cliche, no wonder it did well in America. It made Americans feel more cultures while watching a foreign film that used the same exact boring cliches and for formulas of oscar baiting American Hollywood melodramas.

Agreed with all of you first 3 commenters...after just watching this movie about half an hour ago for the first time and having already seen all the other movies in the top 100, I think I found this to be the most over rated. I enjoyed it, but #39?? Come on..

I agree, seeing it above many of the greatest films of all time is just really sad. It's not a bad movie but there's nothing impressive about it, that's why I gave it a 7.

Well I find City of God too have a high rating. 8.7? Really? Menace II society is much better standing with a 7.5 So an 8.6 for this flick is called Rated. American's only produce sh*t movies nowadays. The dark knight standing at a 9.0? While Interstellar with an 8.7 is better?

Any foreign film I have watched after seeing a high rating on IMDB has disappointed. I think the foreign language must add another 1.0 onto the IMDB rating.

Meh....you don't like it so fine. I thought it was very well done with lots of feeling and a great story.

Nothing new? A rich paraplegic hires an ex-con to take care of him? Yes...that's been done to death.

I enjoyed the movie and rated it an 8 on here, typically something I would rate and would be low to mid 7s. I am surprised its so high in the top 250, should be around the 7.5 mark can only assume non French speakers pat themselves on the back and score it higher
