Did Rosie Perez' character, who played Eva's mom...had she been aware that her daughter had been abused over all the years?
Also, at the end of the movie.....do you think Eva's mom & dad agreed that the mom would give the dad too much insulin, and in doing so, cause his death....because the dad was finally caught?

I know, I was a little confused at the end too. At first I thought she knew but then at the end when they were at the funeral (i'm guessing it was a funeral for him?) she told Sophia that she couldn't believe she didn't know what had been happening so I don't think she knew but when she read the note, she couldn't believe it and was shocked and embarrassed.
At the very end, I don't think he planned it with her because it looked like she just randomly walked in the room to give him his normal dose of insulin but he did watch her inject him so I'm guessing he saw that she was giving him too much but he knew in his mind that he deserved it and that everyone knew what he had done so there wasn't much point for him to live. That's what I'm guessing.
I didn't get the impression she knew. However, in that situation there has to be some sense that there must have been signs that she missed and she'd have to beat herself up thinking about her daughter enduring that all that time. That would make her a real monster knowing that her daughter was going through that and then putting her other daughter at risk at the hands of that monster.
However, I did get the impression that he knew she was giving him enough insulin to kill him.
