Was Darla's seductiveness supposed to be cringeworthy?

She was said to be a very manipulative and cold person who used charm to get whatever she wanted. But whenever she put on her act with Walter, I found it very off-putting and not convincing. I wasn't sure if this was due to bad script, bad acting, or it was on purpose to be comical.

It was her weird zombie smile that really bugged me. She couldn't really fool someone because she was so obviously being fake.

I'm sure she was supposed to be a genuine femme fatale. Blerg.

Every man losing all sense of reason the second they laid eyes on her was my biggest problem with this movie. My next issue was everyone being so condescending to Ed Asner. I will b!tchslap the first person who addresses me in babytalk because I'm "old."

It was kind of nice seeing Kevin Hart act without the top of his head blowing off. He should reel that in more often.
