Uh....no.

This movie is categorized as a comedy, but it's not. I think it was trying to straddle the fence between comedy and quirky, lighthearted indie. It got the indie part right, but none of the adjectives and certainly not comedy. Frankly, it was somewhat depressing, even though it should've been uplifting. Four good movies that are in the same vein of this type of movie, but that actually pulled it off are "Jeff, Who Lives At Home", "Lars And The Real Girl", "Stranger Than Fiction", and "Junebug". And to clarify, I think the performances were fairly good (because the actors are good), but the direction needed to be tighter & characters needed better development. It just lacked something. I couldn't wait until it finished, but kept hoping it would *click* into place. A decent effort that fell flat.

Yeah...this is a Drama with some comedic elements. It's labeled wrong.

I still enjoyed it but only after I stopped looking at it as a Comedy.
