Dumbest Scene in the Film (SPOILERS)

The scene where the hot blonde (claiming to be pregnant) and the other girl with whom E had just had sex was beyond stupid.

The blonde broke up with him, yet somehow cares that he banged her roommate (whom he conveniently never met or heard of in the course of their relationship), so she's going to "teach him a lesson" by faking pregnancy? What the hell business is it of hers who E screws when she dumped him? Is he supposed to sit around and sulk over her when he's very involved with one of Hollywood's most popular entourages? There's women literally everywhere.

Also, it's not like he was a raging douche that cheated on her while he dated her, yet she's going to "out him" as a "user of women."

The other girl also had a worthless cause. "I'm going to confront him because he just wrapped up a relationship with my roommate and now he's banging me." Well then, don't be the groupie at the party and you shouldn't have this issue.

The whole thing was a pointless subplot wrapped under a pointless main "plot."

Pretty much. More subplots than an actual plot, so they could get every person in the world a cameo a and try to promote the crap out of Emily whats-her-name (I know that tied into the plot but they made a point of using her IMHO to promote her career).

The scene with the two girls was just a device to try to show "E" that he was being self-centered and needs to be with Sloan. That was the point of the whole scene...because like you said, at face value it doesn't seem very plausible/realistic.
