Why did Turtle say he started a Tequila company?

He invested in one before it went public, huge difference. The writers had to have known this, so why say he started a tequila company instead of just saying he invested in one?

Because if he hadn't invested in it, it wouldn't have started.

All movies are popcorn movies. Unless you don't buy popcorn.

it wouldn't have went public without Turtle. He knew Alex who knew Carlos who wanted to put him in touch with Vincent Chase and because Turtle also knew Ari who knew Mark Cuban the whole thing took off. If Carlos never met Turtle, the Avion most likely would never became as big as it is.
