Soundtrack - Original French version

Did the original French version (NOT the US DVD) have the Billie Holiday song in English, or did they use some French song? The US DVD had the English song, even on the French soundtrack. To me, that seems odd for a French-language film, although it's certainly not unheard of for foreign films to use classic English songs.

In the French version Billie Holiday sang in English.

It's not unusual to hear English music in foreign movies, because it's the dominant language in music around the world. Many singers and bands in non-English countries sing in English because it gives them a bigger audience. Even in France, which tends to be proud of their language, there are bands like M83, Daft Punk, Kavinsky, and Phoenix who all perform in English instead of French.
