Length is wrong, FYI

It's 61 minutes and only that long because of lengthy closing and opening credits. (Not complaining. The length feels perfect.)

I don't know if there are 70 mins versions actually but I agree with you, for the short duration, it has very satisfying story and character arcs. The proverbial thief-with-a-heart-of-gold element worked perfectly fine for me perhaps because of the condensed storytelling. I'd watch something like this any day over soulless studio films with meaningless plots that got blown out of proportion like "insert your favourite rubbish movie titles here."

duh. the length is also accounts for the credits. IMDb does that with every movie

Chewitt is right about it being shorter than the reported 70 minutes. It's a tad over 60 minutes to the beginning of the end credits, and about 64:30 to the very end of the credits. Even if they add in the length of the short cartoon (saber-tooth kitty) it is still less than 70 minutes.

I thought it had to be at least 70 mins to be considered for the academy award.. I'm still surprised how short it was.. I wanted more..
