Worst, Weirdest, Creepiest Movie Ever...And Most Lame Ending

The last 2 movies in this bizarre pile of *beep* were just shockingly bad.

The awful smiley CGI baby was something from hell. The cast acted like residents and villagers of the damned...The wolf boy talking like that about a baby was sick...Kirstin Stewart always looks greasy and ill in movies. Why?????

But the worst thing was the cop out, corny, cheese fest, wanker of all wanking endings!
"These children are just like us...." "No need to fight, lets just talk like weirdos on ecstacy, and have random fluxes in fighting ability that make no sense...

The people involved in these movies should be sued by humanity and never let near tv or film again.

These movies were made for the fans. Apparently this isn't your cup of tea. No problem. But that doesn't mean that the fandom doesn't deserve to have their favorite books turned into movies. Everyone has the right to like what they like, and have products created just for them. I just don't understand why some can't just live and let live. Why anything they hate isn't worth being made. But, whatever.

I dont care about other people liking these movies. People can like what they want, it's not a crime to express disappointment or a lack of quality.
I was just SHOCKED how terrible this movie was when I finally watched it.

It is like a weird dream where people act unnatural and creepy. The baby in this was just the worst.

If these movies were a good visualisation of the books then I'm sorry but the books are also the worst example of written literature.

just my opinion but everyone is different. I would not want real life to be like Twilight, Twilight fans probably would. shudder.

reply

Yes, made for the fans but speaking for the fans (while NOT being a fan myself), don't they deserve SOME quality? Any at all? The OP is right. This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

reply

 It's the worst movie YOU'VE ever seen. I've seen far worse. And I enjoyed this movie. I _AM_ a fan of this book/movie series, so I can speak as a member of the fandom.

Well, I'm not so sure I can say it's THE worst movie. But definitely up there. I'm glad you enjoyed it, just confused as to how.

reply

How? Because everyone has different tastes, that's how. And it's nice that everyone has books/movies that they can read/watch and enjoy. You don't have to like this movie, and that's the beauty of it. I don't expect everyone to like it, but I do expect those who don't like it to live and let live.

I'm up for a discussion with anyone with an open mind, who can hate something without forcing their hatred onto the fandom. So, feel free to ask about whatever about this movie is bothering you.

First off, is it the romance that doesn't appeal to you? The two 'vegetarian' vampire covens? Because there are only a handful of vampires who choose to feed on animals, the rest feed on humans. But, of course they aren't forefront in Bella's story.

I'm not expecting to change your mind, so no worries there. Just letting you try and see why 'Twilight' fans love the books/movies, is all. If you're curious as to where my tastes run, you can check out my posting history ... I've been discussing with others on other vampire boards my widespread tastes in vampires across genres. Horror, Romance, and on and on.

Maybe not, but what one person thinks is a bad movie, someone else might think is a good movie. For instance, I hate the Godzilla/Mothra/etc. movies, and find them boring, but others love them. I would never go to those boards and troll the fans there, or spew my hatred of how on Earth they could watch such dumb movies. And, since I don't care anything about those movies, I won't be asking any of the fans "How" they could like such crap. Because I really don't care why they love them. I don't need the fans to "explain" their "tastes" in the books/movies they like to me. I leave them in peace to love what they love.

I also hate the "Invasions of the Body Snatcher" movies too. Billy Wirth and Gabrielle Anwar couldn't entice me to watch Body Snatchers (1993).  But I'm open to those who genuinely want to discuss this movie, not just bash.

I don't mind romance at all. The first movie wasn't bad. I thought the acting, with the exception of a few major characters, was terrible. Stewart seemed like a first-year film student to me. The cgi baby was a bad idea, the overuse of focusing on the fast-moving powers was bad, especially when she had to 'try' to act normal in front of her dad. She was practicing and accidentally sped across the room? Why should I believe that? She didn't seem to have that problem any other time... It seemed like they spent half the movie focusing on the various superpowers and unnecessary dialogue between these new characters that we have no reason to care about. The dad just 'accepts' everything without question because he's just told to...by his daughter. Jacob has to strip down to underwear to become a werewolf because underwear is the magical amount of little clothing acceptable to turn, the volturi took forever to get there because, well I don't think there was really an explanation why, was there? The kid has a magical effect on everyone but the volturi guy also with no good reason why, what's her faces' visions are only accurate when it's convenient for the plot... Man, there's so much coming to me as to why this movie is terrible that I can't write it fast enough and I'm actually forgetting some of it. It was just an absolute mess of a movie. My daughter, being 13, should be able to watch this pg-13 movie, right? Wrong. It went from at least trying to keep the violence out of focus in the background and evolved to straight-up, in-your-face gore. It was an absolute gore-fest at the end. Why is that okay? Because there's no blood and they turn into glass (weird). I can't remember seeing a movie with so many decapitations in my life. Ripping faces off, body parts flying everywhere, ripping heads apart at the mouth... Do I really need to go on!? I'm baffled as to how this is pg-13 or how anyone sees any quality at all in it. I literally only finished it because I'd already sat through all of the other ones, just to say I gave them a chance. My daughter had to sit through this trash just to miss the end because I had to excuse her from the room. I know you liked it and I'm usually not so vocal about movies I don't like but there are just some movies that are so bad, they deserve to get a post or two about it. I'm not taking away your right to like it; like on. No problem. But I hated it and trashed it right away. Again, I can't say it's THE number one worst movie, but it's high up there for me.

So again, I don't mean any offense but you asked and I told. And there's much, much more I left out because it's too much and not worth any more of my time.

Everyone has different tastes. There are a number of celebs that I can't stand to watch, but they are very popular. I either don't watch them, or if they're in something I want to watch I try to just ignore them.

I'm sure there will be a reboot at some point, and maybe you'll see better acting in that series. 

The cgi baby was a bad idea, the overuse of focusing on the fast-moving powers was bad, especially when she had to 'try' to act normal in front of her dad. She was practicing and accidentally sped across the room? Why should I believe that? She didn't seem to have that problem any other time...

Renesmee is very mature for her age ... physically, emotionally, and mentally. A real baby doesn't have a full set of teeth at birth. (Ususally.) A real baby can't focus on a conversation going on around them, and understand that conversation, so a CGI baby was needed. Sadly, the technology isn't there yet. Perhaps in a few years, when a reboot is put in play, the CGI will be advanced enough to create Renesmee as she is written. *crosses-fingers*

The speed of the vampires can be seen as scenes with people speaking a foreign language ... in some movies all the actors speak English where all the people speak/know the same language ... but, add someone who speaks a different language, and suddenly those same actors speak their native tongue.

We didn't see the speed of the vampires, because they're all moving the same ... but in that scene, everyone but Bella was moving at a human pace as an example ... so when Bella moved, she kept the vampire pace.

Or, you can see it as her being facetious.

It seemed like they spent half the movie focusing on the various superpowers and unnecessary dialogue between these new characters that we have no reason to care about.

Not everyone in the audience had read the books, so this let them know what the Cullens have going for them on their side of the fight.

The dad just 'accepts' everything without question because he's just told to...by his daughter.

He accepts it because the alternative is that she will leave and he will never see her again. Plus, he also can't wrap his mind around the fact that the supernatural is real. He's in denial. (In the book, he didn't want to know more than they told him. Seeing Jacob turn into a wolf was too much for him.)

However, Charlie is dating Sue, and it looks like they might be heading down the aisle. As a husband of someone on the council, Charlie will be under the protection of the wolves, and will probably be able to learn the whole truth ... should he want to know it.

Jacob has to strip down to underware to become a werewolf because underware is the magical amount of little clothing acceptable to turn,

Jacob didn't want to ruin his clothes. Clothes cost money, and Jacob and the wolves aren't rich, so they remove their clothes before shifting into wolves. They sometimes use a bungee cord to attach their clothes to their legs. They also have clothes hidden all over the woods.

the volturi took forever to get there because, well I don't think there was really an explanation why, was there?

There is in the book. They all came. And it took time to prepare for such a large group to travel. No one was left behind for fear of an attack on the two groups while divided.

The kid has a magical effect on everyone but the volturi guy also with no good reason why, what's her faces' visions are only accurate when it's convenient for the plot...

Renesmee has only the gift of putting her thoughts into the minds of others. Those who fell under her 'spell' did so because she's a child. Just as most everyone falls in love with puppies and kittens.

Aro didn't fall under her 'spell' because to him she was only a tool in which he could use to get his hands on Bella, Edward, Benjamin & Alice. He killed his own sister to prevent her from taking Marcus away from Volterra.

It should have gotten a PG-15 ... but I don't believe there is such a rating. As a parent, you have every right to say what your child can and can't watch. The 'vision' wasn't in the books. The wolves and hybrid vampires give Alice blindspots, so there is no way she could have seen that fight, nor adult Jacob and Renesmee at the end.

So again, I don't mean any offense but you asked and I told. And there's much, much more I left out because it's too much and not worth any more of my time.

Now see, this is a conversation. It's hard to make a counter reply to, "This movie stinks." But, go into detail of why you think this movie stinks, and others can give you their interpretation and maybe even explain some missteps in your interpretation.  Which, of course, doesn't mean you have to accept them. You are entitled to your view. And I don't have a problem with you not liking the movie/story ... nor with you sharing your view of why you don't like the movie/story.

As a parent, you can use this book/movie series as a means to have a discussion with your daughter and get her view on the characters and events. Then you can give her your view on the characters and events. It could be a learning experience for you both.

Find out what about this series that attracts her to it. What morals/lessons does she glean from it? Let her go first, so you can get her view on it all before you do a counter-view. Does she see it as just a fantasy story, or are there parts of it that might alter her real-life perspectives?

When you feel she's old enough, the both of you could have a Readers/Watchers Club. You could add your wife and other parents and their daughters to the group. (Sons too if any are interested.)

BTW: The wedding night scene in the book is not like in the movie. But I'm sure you might prefer to read ahead to be sure of what you might want to leave out of your discussions.

Wow, you're very enthused. I think you misunderstand though. I didn't come here to debate the abomination that is this film. Half of your explanations require having read the book and that makes for a BAD movie adaptation.

My daughter isn't huge into this either. We were just trying to understand what all of the hype was all about.

No reader's or watcher's club for us. But have fun.

It should have been R. It was straight up horror violence.

reply

The hype is the same as the hype of any other book/movie that you or others love. This is either your thing, or it isn't. That's the only hype going on here.

Your whole argument is such a contradiction.

You say "People can like what they want" and then you say "I was just SHOCKED how terrible this movie was"

At the end of your rant, you even stated: "Just my opinion but everyone is different."

EXACTLY.

You don't like Twilight. Kudos. Good for you.

It's your opinion that you think it's terrible.

Yet, you say "Everyone is different, this is just my opinion"

What was the point of your rant?

You've already stated that "People can like what they want", yet, you proceed to rant about how terrible this is, proclaiming it that it is "your opinion" that it is so terrible."

Yet, opinions are objective. Some people like coffee, some people like tea. Some people like ketchup, some like mustard. Some people like Twilight, some people don't.

Either way, it's an OPINION. Whether your opinion is that you LIKE Twilight or HATE it, at the end of the day, it's still just an OPINION.

And opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one. A good, well thought out debate, or well constructed argument, etc. is something that is relevant and useful here on IMDB.

But the usual "Bla bla bla, this sucks because it's my OPINION" speech is something we literally see on hundreds upon hundreds of different pages, and, you ranters have absolutely nothing to ever say other than: "OMG THIS WAS THE WORST THING EVER!!!!1111" -- and that's that.

How very, very original of you.
