Twilight sucks

Fact

Care to explain?

Let's be bad guys.

reply

No, not fact. It's wonderful. Shut up.

I would have to agree. I understand it was made for young girls, but it seems as if it was made by little girls as well.

reply

I'm sure Stephenie Meyer is crying all the way to the bank over your opinion

reply

I was totally disappointed the first time I read it, I mean sparkling vampires, teen vamps that go to high school all the time then college, too many pretty pictures.

Personally I miss old school vampires.

reply

"Old school" vampires haven't gone anywhere. There's room for them all.

Here is a list of vampire shows, and shows with vampires:

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2014)
The Strain (2014)
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
The Originals (2013)
Shadowhunters (2016)

Movie:

Underworld: Blood Wars (2016)

[Edit]

If you don't consider these "old school" vampires, then do what a lot of writers/authors do, write what you want to read and put it out there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I loved the movie from dusk till dawn. I don't recall the vamps from Underworld being old school, haven't seen them deal with crosses but I do know they don't like sunlight.

You are most welcome.

I love all the various kinds of vampires. I think of them as being on separate, parallel universes, thus my belief that there is room for them all, and that I can love them all equally. No one vampire tale/myth/lore/legend/etc. is better or worse than any of the others. They are only in competition if you pit them all together on the one universe/world.

And, yes, I understand that those I've listed aren't all 'old school,' but I listed them just in case you hadn't checked them out yet and might not mind the parts that are different. "The Strain" isn't really traditional vampires, but I think the idea of them is just as brilliant as Stephenie Meyer's vampires. Of course, YMMV.

I hope one or more of those I listed fills the void you feel. But, if not, do write the vampires you can't find and publish them. I've no doubt others are waiting on those vampires to be written as well. With Indie-Publishing, the traditional publishers no longer have veto rights as to what is published.

Abigail Gibbs, who is a 'Twilight' fan, wrote her own kind of vampires. If you haven't read, "Dark Heroine," you might want to give it a look. I have both books in the "Dark Heroine" series, and am awaiting the third. Abigail was a teenager in high school when she wrote and published, "The Dark Heroine." She's now in college, which is most likely why the third book in the series hasn't come out yet.
