Why did Catwoman look like a butch lesbian?

She was not hot at all, which is a big no-no for Catwoman. With her close-cropped haircut, she looked more like Sinead O'Connor than Selina Kyle.

reply

The Catwoman design is the same as the comics.

That doesn't answer his question. So why did she look like a butch dyke in the comic series?

She didn't. She didn't in this either.

You have problems with it, take it up with them.

Frank Miller has issues.

and nobody notice, that she was black in 'year one' but she was white in her dc showcase short?

reply

Haha yeah, I think she waas smokin hot in her DC showcase movie. She was white indeed and different looking. When I saw her in this movie I was like, umm wtf? She has short hair and is darker lol. Didn't like her in this movie.

reply

Hey! It was written and drawn in the eighties, those were different times.

You might as well ask why Vicki Vale and Selina Kyle looked like TV anchors and Bruce Wayne looked like a hair salon stylist in the Burton movies.

reply

Well, Vicki Vale IS a TV anchor in the Comic and Bruce Wayne's design is Basically Gregory Peck in face and body.
"No one gives a damn about your obscure movie reference."

Catwoman's crop haired dyke look was the one thing I didn't like about Miller's 'Year One', and should've been changed for this cartoon.

"Fanboys. Why did it have to be Fanboys?"

reply

I found her quite sexy with her haircut... :D

reply

Her hair was the only turn-off, she had a rockin bod...

reply

They made her very masculine, borderlining a transgendered man.

When they first showed her in the window I thought it was a dude in drag.

Light travels faster than sound. That's why people appear bright until you hear them speak.

reply

^Came here specifically to say that. Just got done watching this and when "she" first popped up I thought it was a transsexual. I'm fine with a muscular body but the face was terribly done. Selina should be a bit more attractive looking.

I'd love to see you in the moonlight with your head thrown back and your body on fire.

reply

If she turned out to be MtF transgendered in the story, that would have at least made it interesting.

reply

I dont get why writers try to do these things. It doesnt add any mystic or awe to your story, it takes away from it with stupid unneeded character changes that become distractions. Catwoman in this looked like a borderline tranny. She was tall, muscular for a chick, and had a butch hair cut... DISGUSTING. Thank goodness almost everyone else who used Catwoman in future installments changed her back to looking decent.

The way Miller makes Catwoman to be in Returns and this just makes me think he hates the *beep* out of her.

Sex industry workers frequently have very short hair so they can easily wear wigs and change their appearance to suit the customers desires.
