Here's why this fails

King Arthur - is a king of uncompromising virtue, grace, loyalty, chivalry etc

In this show he's a womanizing cry baby FAIL

Merlin - while enjoyable Merlin killing the little girl and her father then spinning the lady of the lake story is BS ruins Merlin as the wise good wizard FAIL

Gwen - actress was bland and boring FAIL

Lot, Morgan and sometimes Merlin were good the rest HORRIBLE

Skip this, the only good thing from it is the music

This is the story behind the legend though, and feels much more plausible.

Arthur didn't start out wise and all-powerful and mature, but he did have an innate sense of justice that comes across clearly.

Merlin wasn't an all-powerful wizard here, but a showman with some genuine magic who used his understanding of human nature to create a myth backing the rise of a good man to the throne.

I agree. This does seem more plausible then the wide old wizard and perfect king. It shows Arthur and the round table knights had the innate sense of justice and right but not that it was that easy.
