Let's get the scripted thing out of the way. If it is indeed scripted, then we are discussing the plot of the show. Even if it is trying to pass itself off as "reality," discussion of the plot is just as valid as discussions on the plot of something like House (not saying I'm making a comparison beyond that).
Also, Peepshow may be going all right at the moment, but the whole point was that Holly's getting older (something she can't control), and apparently gaining weight (which she does not feel she should have to change), and she is worried that she could easily be replaced when people get sick of her. Whether or not her part in the show is large, she is the draw to the show. Otherwise, it's just like any other girly show on the strip, so the minute there is a dip in her popularity, it is going to affect the show.
Jade is obviously looking to make a name for herself. She is in direct competition with Holly, and has an edge over her in terms of age and body type. The only edge Holly has is her establishment as a reality TV star, which everyone knows are a dime a dozen. She has good reason to worry.
The sad part is, she IS pretty. She's NOT fat. She's just not a rail. Like she said, she didn't get famous for being a rail. Hef didn't pick her because she was a rail, he picked her for her hourglass figure, which is perfect for playboy, but apparently not for a dancer. Personally, I think that's something they should have considered before they cast her, rather than suddenly saying "drop those pounds!" Makes me wonder if there has been a drop in ticket sales already and they're just trying to postpone the inevitable (ie: the novelty has worn off and people just don't care anymore).
I know that's just the way the business is, but that doesn't make it any less cruel. It makes me wonder how bad it is going to get before people refuse to accept the impossibly high standards that get higher and higher every year.

Agreed! She couldn't make the NEW girls next door show work, her stint on The Hills didn't do anything, neither did her relationship with Brody and her fake fight with Joe Francis. This girl needs to stop latching on to other people's fame. No one wants her and her overly botoxed face.
