Why all the drama?

Why did this show become so dramatic and awful? I remember in an interview that Holly did when this show first came out she said that she wanted it to be fun and upbeat. Now that's totally out the window. Holly was hardly even in the most recent episode.

Were the ratings so bad that they are trying to turn this show into The Hills?

I hate Jade and her stupid lazy eye. They seriously need to get her off the show.
