does the 2013 movie follow this?

I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't. Rebirth was basically a pitch which Warner Bros. rejected for being too radical a departure from the games. If anything, the movie will probably more closely resemble the web series which includes all the supernatural elements that Rebirth did away with.
