France fail though - replace with Uruguay, non?

My final prediction I would have said Argentina Vs Germany

But according to my predictions they would meet in the Quarter finals. Shame.

reply

Yeah, and Spain failed 2 days ago...this was just a quick once over to see who could potentially face off with who...Argentina and Germany could only face off in the final if one of the 2 comes in second in their pool and the other comes in first...both look to come out on top and if that happens they'll likely face off against eachother in the quarter finals...if neither lose in the round of 16...

reply

But anythng can happen as we just saw with Germany vs Serbia 0-1

Get where you're coming from.

It's all to play for as they say. Getting a lot more interesting

nobody seems to have much faith in the dutch... of course I want to see them win, but they do potentially face either Brazil or Spain in the quarter finals(depending if spain qualify second in their group which is what i see happening but with this world cup who knows?). Still I think this is the year for Oranje, they have had a slow start but have still won all their games so far (only Argentina and Brazil can boast the same).

Its really interesting how much the favourite teams haven't been up to form. The french team seem to be suffering from all kinds of inner turmoil with their coach and players and now Anelka being sent home... well I don't see France qualifying for the next round and they haven't been on form since 2006 anyway. Spain i think will be runners up in their group but I don't know how long they'll last... they always seem to get really badly homesick during the world cup. Germany... will either be first or second in their group, i don't see them not qualifying (its Germany after all). Italy always seems to have a slow start in these competitions so I wouldn't rule them out yet, but if they do qualify for the next round I don't see them getting very far. Portugal is a team I would hate to see qualify for the next round... England need to really luck out to qualify for the next round and I personally don't see it happening.

This year its all really open big teams doing badly, smaller teams doing better than anyone had imagined (like New Zealand and slovenia really stand out to me). So I'm really curious to see whats going to happen and to see who won't live up to expectations, who will and who will exceed them.
