The US version seems to have an added voiceover

I watched a European DVD release of this film and I also watched it on Canadian TV. Neither had a voiceover of Julia speaking to her daughter Sarah at any point in the movie. Reading comments online, I see that viewers (from the US, presumably) have noted these parts. Opening the movie:

JULIA: Sometimes our own stories are the ones that we can never tell. But if a story is never told, it becomes something else…forgotten

And closing it:
JULIA: And so I write this for you, My Sarah. With the hope that one day, when you’re old enough, this story that lives with me, will live with you as well. When a story is told, it is not forgotten. It becomes something else, a memory of who we were; the hope of what we can become.

Were there any other voiceover parts from Julia? They seem to have added these for US audiences. I'm glad they're not in the original version as they sound rather awkward and unnecessary.
