Where do I begin?!

OMG This movie SUCKED! Now I understand that everyone has differeent tastes and their own opinions, this is just MY OPINION and my views on this TERRIBLE MOVIE!

First of all I was suckered into this movie thinking it was finally going to break away from the Bollywood cliches that perpetually overide the Indian film industry.... how wrong I was!... I thought Imran Khan's character would finally knock some sense into the minds of gullible idiots (like my wife) into finally accepting that Bollywood love is nothing but a sham and just there for pure entertainment.... NO JOKE, when I first started dating my wife she was upset as to why I was not as "romantic" as the over exeggerated characters from the Bollywood movies she idolised (e.g. SRK, SAK, Amir Khan etc) Message to South-Asian women.... IT'S NOT REAL! THAT NEVER HAPPENS IN REAL LIFE! NO SELF-RESPECTING GUY WOULD EVER ACT LIKE A PATHETIC LAP-DOG UNLESS HE HAD NO SHAME!... getting back to my point though.... just when you think this movie tries to break away from those horrible cliches and teach people a thing or two about about "love", Dutt and Johar open up their big ass cheeks and lay yet another piece of *beep* movie for all of us to endure in horror!... So whats the lesson here South Asian Women.... thats right.... Bollywood is always right.. even if you think they are wrong (like Imran Khan's character did)!

My next qualm with this movie is the pointless length of it all! Now granted, I know and understand that most Indian movies are stupidly long in length and sometimes for good reason, but with a plot so dangerously thin like this film's, anything beyond 1hr 30 mins becomes pointless FILLER. This movie was an excellent example of why some movies should not go beyond an hour and a half in length. The second half of the movie was just J (Imran Khan) trying to woe Simran (Sonam Kapoor) for over an hour..... WHY?! OH WHY?! JOHAR DID YOU DO THAT! .... We would have understood the same thing in just half the time and enjoyed it more... but no like all other Bollywood cliches.... you decided to follow this one too!... How typical!

My final arguement with this movie is regarding the TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE acting of some of the characters. Now granted again, putting their ridiculous cliches aside, neither Imran Khan nor Sonam Kapoor were THAT terrible, but neither were they great and I have seen both of them perform much better in the past, but to be fair they weren't awful... HOWEVER.... some of those cameos made me want to scoop my eyeballs out with a rusty ice-pick.... Is this the first time Bollywood have introduced some lame-ass actors to perform lam-ass roles in the background?... NO.... But would you have at least started to expect that in a country with over a billion people they could at least employ a few individuals who can perfom MUCH BETTER... HELL YES!!!.... But oh no Bollywood knows best yet again... Never mind if they cannot perform, so long as she's got a good body and decent face it really doesn't matter! REALLY KAPOOR?! REALLY?!.... That Gisele (Bruna Abdullah) couldn't act if she had to save her own mother's life and don't get me started on those two girls called over by Kunal in the bar.

Just before I close this little rant off, what is with Asians! Honestly the world doesn't care how cool it sounds to say someone works/lives/does business in the West. I am Asian and I live in the West, and I understand that many in my family seem to look up to me and my folks for living here in the WEST, but come-on seriously! Start showing some pride for your own country and its emergence into the developing world and stop making such a fuss about London, New York, Sydney etc...It really isn't a big deal!.... Why don't they even teach something constructive like contributing to the development of India as oppose to showing off over hyped cities and citizens of the West already developed and established thus inspiring people to escape their home's in Asia instead.... SHOW SOME PRIDE BOLLYWOOD! SHOW SOME PRIDE!.... When you fill the minds of your population with garbage like that, there is no wonder why they act the way they do. Bollywood has the potential to manipulate, control and progress people's minds, hence thereforth use your capabilities for the good and start teaching your people something worth learning about. E.G. LEARN FROM AMIR KHAN! HE IS THE GREATEST MAVERICK TO HAVE EVER COME OUT OF BOLLYWOOD AND EVERYONE RESPECTS HIM FOR IT!.... IN OTHER WORDS... WITH THE LIKES OF HIM... THERE IS HOPE... NOT JUST FOR INDIA BUT FOR THE WHOLE OF BOLLYWOOD!..... AMIR KHAN IS A GOD!

Sorry bro, you sounded like a total d*ck. You're taking for granted all the amenities you have as opposed to those who "look up to you and your folks". The reason for most of this hype is that for many people on this planet, living a successful life is .. well what everyone wants. For most part, this is seen through wealth, namely financial stability. When one immigrates to a new country, such a given "west"-ern country it is implied they are on a path to the earlier mentioned point of success. India being a developing nation, has many people under or around the poverty line. Now who doesn't want to make lots of money and live the "rich" life? I may now be throwing things around with what i'm trying to say but you just don't see it because you're already there. I sorta kinda lost my train of thought, but those are just my two cents.

First of all, there is no doubt that everone wants wealth and everybody wants success, however why does the Indian film industry feel the need to CONSTANTLY use references from the West to make their movies more attractive? Having success is one thing, so why not promote the success of India? India is still in its developing stages and should be promoting its development instead of always using western props to bolster their appeal. It wouldnt matter so much if it was done moderatly and unbiasedly, however it is a constant thing with the Indian film industry and they only promote (while over exaggerating) the positive side of the West, and the movies are set out to purposely accomplish this. The Indian film industry conspicuously posions the minds of its consumers as though happiness is only synonmous with going to the West and earning lots of money, hence why so many Indians strive to just leave their country and go elsewhere... so why not retain that talent in your own country and help it develop more proficiently? Wealth is not everything nor is the West, but the Indian film industry seem to think it is. I agree many in India are below the poverty line, so why does Bollywood rarely face up to it and show it for what it is? Because, in their eyes the only way of attracting people into their glittery over-the-top movies is by embellishing the things people have heard of the West. I have seldom seen a realisitic depiction of India in a Bolywood movie, lets not forget the controversy that was roused in India as a result of 'Slumdog', when it took a BRITISH director to knock some sense into people. If India starts promoting its own country, landscape, culture and development they can eventually steer away from just looking at the West as the answer to success to its population, they have the potential to manipulate and control peoples psyche, so why not use it for the greater good? Its a cheap way of rousing excitment amongst young people in India, they have heard so many things about the West, and Bollywood obviously take advantage of that, hence its just a cheap shot at making money while bringing the integrity of their country down.
