$20,000 budget?

That's what it states on the budget line for the movie! It's obviously a typo, but I WOULD like to know what the budget was for this movie. Was it supposed to be $120 million, or $200 million? If anyone really knows, will you fill us in?

reply

Hi, no it's not a typo, the budget was $20,000, raised entirely by donations from fans around the world, and most of the budget set aside for costumes, props, and filming expenses.

Do you know what movie you're commenting on? This isn't the new Superman movie "Man of Steel" with Russel Crowe in it. This is "Superman: Requiem" an amateur indie movie with no affiliation with DC Comics.

reply

Yes, we produced the movie for $20,000, made by a 250-strong cast & crew of professionals working with an extremely low budget (the budget for Man of Steel is $175,000,000.), and was made under the blessing and permission of DC Comics and Warner Bros.

20k seems pretty high for what I saw in the end product. I was expecting it to cost $5,000 but 20? Jesus you could have made two feature films that you could sell for that kind of money.

If it was made my professionals, why does it look so amateur? You could have gotten a better camera with that 20,000 dollars.

reply

It's not the camera. You can get a camera for $600 that shoots full 1080p HD with changeable lenses giving it high cinematic quality. It's how you use it.
