This movie was wonderful

I really don't get the hate on this board... this was a delightful movie.

The costumes were simply lovely costumes. Lily Collins is stunning as Snow White.

The dwarfs each had their own personality and were really what made the film. I felt bad for Half-Pint since he had an unrequited crush on Snow...

Clearly, this movie is a comedic take. People complaining it was cheesy? What did you expect going in? The previews made it seem like a fun movie heavily geared towards children... and that is exactly what it is.

My four-year-old daughter loved it and so did I. We gladly got it on disc and watched it two more times so far.

I've never been a fan of Julia Roberts. But she does a good job as the evil Queen, my daughter usually really likes villainous characters (Maleficent was her favourite when she was younger) but she sure hates that queen! "I hate the evil poo poo queen!" she said.

Is the film perfect? Well, no. I really didn't need the shirtless scenes with the prince, and I wish Snow and the prince could have talked a bit more during their fight scene and cleared up that misunderstanding, but that's a very old trope necessary for the plot and hundreds of other films do the same thing.

I really liked the fact that Snow White, while taught to fight in a great montage, was still just a talented amateur and the prince was clearly her superior in swordplay. That was a touch of realism and character that I appreciated.

I loved the song at the end and they DID say that the people used to sing and dance all the time, right in the beginning of the movie! It was foreshadowing! Some people just don't like Bollywood style I guess.

Some people actually complained they changed the dwarf's names. Walt Disney invented those names; he did not invent Snow White. The tale has been around a LONG time and this is just an alternate take on it.

This movie was FUN. Everyone can sure have their own opinion, and every movie isn't for everyone, but this movie delivered on exactly what it promised in the previews.

I understand your 4 year old daughter liking it because it was written at about a 4 year old level.

I agree. Its full of light and beauty. :-)

How we gonna pay last year's RENT?!

people hated it because it didn't have a depressed and brooding protagonist, or every character giving off a filibuster every time they opened their mouth, or preaching that everybody becomes evil if they don't die young.

42 years old here, and loved it
I really like how Tarsem uses the colors and costumes, but the story is fun too, using the Snow white story we all know and putting some humor in it

I loved it as well, I think its cute and charming, dont get all the hate either

I agree for the most part. I think many people were expecting more of a Snow White and the Huntsman vibe, but this was clearly geared towards children and had cutesy (and perhaps cheesy) jokes. I thought it was cute, but it definitely had lackluster moments. I do wish that the writing was more interesting; just because it's a children's movie doesn't mean it has to be poorly written. But overall, it was cute and sweet and made me smile.
