Maybe you have to be a girl to get the eyebrows?

My brother and I took my niece to see this movie and he could not stop talking about how ugly she is, the same with a group of boys in the back row. I thought she looked nice, although her look isn't conventional (I don't think she's a very good actress but that's a different point).

What do you think..is it a girl thing?

The only problem I have is that the makeup person *darkened* her brows. If you look at the casual photos they are not anywhere near that dark & full.

reply

in the ball gowns I thought the eyebrows were too much, but in the blue pirate outfit, she (and here eyebrows) were captivating. Especially when she let her hair down.

reply

Lilly Collins is well fit.....no matter about her eyebrows.

reply

The eyebrows need to choose one or the other, long or thick. Toning down on one of those wouldn't hurt. But I do agree that in her bandit outfit they weren't as distracting as in other outfits.

I'm not reading your manifesto, keep your damn posts short!

reply

I thought she looked lovely. She does have strong brows but I thought they gave her a bit of Audrey Hepburn charm.

reply

I like the eyebrows, they certainly are a lot more attractive than the very thin eyebrows that some females pluck to.

Besides, if you read her short bio on IMDb you will see that she once DID pluck them thinner but realized she was better off embracing her full brows. Good for her!

When most fans here were too young to remember, a very young Brooke Shields, one of the most beautiful young women ever, had very full eyebrows.

Make a choice, to take a chance, to make a difference.

There's full, and then there's Groucho. I agree her natural look/color is attractive. So why the greasepaint? Well, this is Tarsem Singh, after all. Once should expect a little...excess.

Maybe it is a girl thing ... because I LOVE her eyebrows!
I think I need to darken mine! :(

reply

I thought she was beautiful.

I don't know why people in recent times have become so obsessed with women having thin eye brows. If you watch 80s movies, it didn't seem to be as big a deal. I mean look at Jennifer Connelly in Labyrinth

I'm a male and I thought she was gorgeous. Even if people weren't as enamored as I was, it surprises me anyone would say she was ugly.

reply

Yeh, gonna have to weigh in here against the thin eyebrow shyte as well... Asian actresses are bloody NOTORIOUS for their shaved-then-pencilled-in-thin-as-frak-eyebrows. I vomit a little in my mouth every ruddy time I am subjected to that look... Along with the over-puffed-fat-injection lips and silicon conways that have created a National Travesty in the Bulgarian songstress circles (*cough* Galena, *cough* Maria, et.al.)... Enough is well effing enough, already.

I also really loved her and I thought she was gorgeous as well. I really liked her and I liked her a million times more than stupid "Bella" in the other Snow white movie.

I'll look down, and whisper no

reply

I was about to say!

Anyway, the first scene with Snow White grown up I was thinking "wow" but after a few seconds I realized thick eyebrows were THE look in other times, including the 80s

and besides... after second thought I realized the actress was very beautiful even with those eyebrows. She even reminded me of Audrey Hepburn

reply

Yeah. At first I just F and D and F and D and D and F over and over again. I didn't know that her eyebrows is that thick. However, it doesn't make her ugly. It's true that I think about Audrey Hepburn when I see her

reply

i think she is absolutely gorgeous. her eyebrows enhaces her beautiful eyes and her long black lashes. It's like a painting. very unconventional indeed and yet her little face has a great harmony.
she is not the kind of ravishing and temptress godess, she's introduced as a sweet young lady, and i think the unhuman beauty of the character is that of her spirit and personality.
and you must remember that beauty standards aren't really something arguable since every person has it's own. Unfortunetly the society has fallen into a hole where peoples idea of beauty is practically something impossible of existing.

reply

She's really pretty. Her eyebrows suit her as far as I'm concerned, they certainly don't make her any less attractive.

Being forced to listen to inconsiderate, rude, crude and/or offensive noises from others is one reason that I won't go to in-theater movies. Perhaps you should watch it at home and keep your comments to your your own subculture.
