shareGood God, why do people not get that more than hotness enters into it? If you look at the most renowned actresses, they're certainly beautiful women, but have more than "hotness."
Not only are they better at their craft, at bringing characters to life, but even physically, they have more distinction and character to their look. Look at Julia Roberts. Julianne Moore. Hilary Swank. All beautiful, but not exactly "hot."
Hell, if you watch any horror movie or crime drama, most of the nameless victims that are offed before the credits even roll are incredibly hot, more so than most Hollywood Royalty. This being said, they're also very interchangeable and ultimately forgettable, traits not shared by Roberts, Swank, or Moore. If Hotness was all it took, Megan Fox and Jenna Dewan would be getting a lot more work in roles meant to be taken seriously.
What's great about Olivia Wilde is not only is she "hot" by a traditional standard, but also a very good actress with a distinct look.
1) The character in question was no great character requiring an amazing actress.
2) Olivia Wilde is not an amazing actress.
3) What makes you think Kate Mara is not an equal or better actress?
Basically, we are comparing two equally adequate, yet average, actresses playing an average roll in an average movie. In that context, Hollywood mucked it up and failed to give the sexy role to the sexier actress.

True, but Kate Mara is also a wayyy better actress than Olivia Wilde. She has the edge in both looks and talent.

shareFrom what I've seen Kata Mara is a marginally better actress than Olivia Wilde, but she's been nowhere near as good as her own younger sister Rooney Mara (who's pretty damn "hot" too). Still, you could argue Mara actually had the meatier, more challenging part here.
As for the nude scenes, well, Olivia Wilde is very pretty, but there's nothing special about her naked body (it's nice, but. . .). I haven't seen Kate Mara naked, but she seems in the same mould as Olivia Wilde--very pretty, but not incedibly voluptuous. I think the only difference if they switched roles is that Wilde would have been significantly weaker in the deputy role.
I think kate knows better and wants to be taken more seriously as and actress.Olivia is all looks not as much acting chops i agree it would of been nice to see kate mara's villiage feeders bare and naked.Same with her ass shes more of a full figured women than olivia .Kate's got curves in all the right places and shes all natural which isnt bad .I wouldnt mind seeing her getting worked on olivia wilde is too thirsty to get naked/or sexed up.
