This film was shown at the LFF last night 23/10/11. There were a few walk outs. I can't say any more as this post may be deleted..

sharei really rather liked it. didn't see any walk-outs either!
shareYeah, there were about 30 walkouts during the first of the Surprise screenings and it seems it wasn't a popular choice for a majority of people. I guess they expected bigger films.
shareThere were walkouts last night too. I don't think people were expecting a bigger movie, just a decent one. I stuck it out purely out of hope that the ending would justify me having wasted a few hours. It did not.
Was it over when the Germans bomb Pearl Harbour?
I too counted 30 on the first screening. And was envious of every last one of them.
I just want my kids back.
This film, like Stillman’s other films, represents and uniquely American cultural phenomenon that British viewers will not easily understand. So it’s not surprising to see that so many Brits find Damsels unsatisfying. Over-educated young adults with no life experience whatsoever bumbling through relationships. A social byproduct of a prosperous society. Viewed in that context it should make some sense. And a somewhat stylized presentation.
